English Review:

The first thing I'm gonna said about this book is that its synopsis is very misguided, which led me to had a completely different idea of what the book was all about, and no, I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I loved when a book surprise me and turns out to be a whole different thing of what I had in my mind... But this book end up reminding me of "The House of Night" (and that is wrong, in so many levels!) but, on the good side, Undeadly was better and I liked it, but, on the bad side, it wasn't what I was expecting and I had some issues with a few things.

The world setting for the story is one where everyone knows about the existence of necromancers, there are places where people can take the corpses of their loved ones and pay to the necromancer to turn the corpse into a zombie and there are these strange machines than can trape the spirits of people... Actually, the world building was amazing, in the first chapters I was like "OMG! This is going to be so good (even when it reminds me about The House...)" and I really enjoyed it for a while, but, after a few pages, I was kind of overwhelmed with the narrative, because it didn't feel like the point of view of a sixteen year old, it was like reading a point of view of someone younger (and inmature), and even when I laugh at some stuff Molly said, it wasn't good all the time, because it was full of so much drama and superficial thoughts and that is something that really gets on my nerves...
The other thing that really drove me over the edge was that, even when in the beggining everything was told at good, calm pace, after Molly arrives at Nekyia, Michele Vail launches herself (and her readers) in a rush of events that were  difficult to follow (and sometimes didn't make sense); it felt (or a least I feel it that way) that Michele wanted to finish her book and move on with the next one... I don't know, but if I had to pick, I'll keep the first half of the book and the last chapter.

I already said that Molly was like a really inmature brat, but what really piss me off was that she had this bipolar complex, because one second she was like "I'm a big girl and I know what I want" and in the next was like "My life sucks, stupid Anubis, I wanna go home", I mean, really? I wanted to find something that kicked ass in her personality but, even when I tried for the whole book, I couldn't; maybe I could just say that she has a good sense of humor and a great morality (this is a really good thing), but apart from that, nothing (BIG nothing)
And I just can't talk about Rath, because I don't really know who Rath is... He's suppose to be the big bad sexy boy of the book, but the only thing I know for sure is that Rath is just an another pretty face with a serious superiority complex...
As for other characters, they were as shallow as Rath, I'm just intrigued by Anubis and by Rennie (a ghost boy); apart from those two, not even the "bad girl", Clarissa, had enough bitchness in her...

Undeadly is a light read, perfect for a weekend, but it just didn't fulfill all the expectations I put in it... I was really troubled about the rating I should give to it, but since the first half was good, there's a lot of potential for the story and the book end in a freaking cliff-hanger, I decided to rate it with a three, and even when I'm not really sure if I will keep reading the series (probably I will, for that ending), I hope for Michele Vail to correct the narrative and to expand a little bit more the next book (I'm not asking for the 800 pages, but 350 will be good).
