Lo que pienso de "Dark Kiss":

El primer libro de la saga Nightwatchers ha sido mucho mas de lo que esperaba en un inicio cuando leí su sinopsis, y empezare diciendo que lo que me hizo voltear a verlo en primer lugar fue esa bonita y oscura portada y ya nada mas con ver las alas (?) del chico, sabia que este libro tenia que tener, al menos, un ángel... Y OhMyBishop! Con un ángel así, no me importaría perder mi alma.

La historia transcurre en, mas o menos, una semana dentro del pueblo de Trinity, Nueva York, donde ciertas cosas sobrenaturales les están comenzando a pasar a los humanos que habitan en el, y el Cielo y el Infierno están preocupados acerca del equilibrio que estos humanos les deben proporcionar, por lo que ensamblaran un equipo de 2 ángeles y 2 demonios que solucionen y reparen estos daños antes de que se deban tomar medidas un poco mas desesperadas para impedir que la amenaza se extienda por el mundo. Debo decir que me tomo un poco de tiempo engancharme a la historia (por eso no le di una calificación perfecta), pero ya después de unos 5 capítulos estaba tan metida en el libro que me costaba dejar de leer. No he leído otro libro de Michelle Rowen, pero me ha gustado su forma de escribir y la forma en que hace parecer que un capitulo solo tiene unas cuantas paginas en lugar de su verdadera extensión.

Otra cosa que me gusto de la historia es que no solo hay ángeles y demonios en el libro, sino que también hay grays, que son humanos sin alma que ahora deben alimentarse de las almas de otros a través de besos; fue un buen giro ver que le pasaría a un humano si perdiera su alma y el concepto del alma misma lo que me llamo la atención.

Los personajes son geniales! De verdad me gusto mucho la forma de ser de Sam, que debido a unos problemas familiares tiene un sentido del humor bastante oscuro y parece dominar el sarcasmo bastante bien, pero al mismo tiempo es una adolescente que teme el rechazo y el dolor que eso puede ocasionar, y no por esto es una llorona que necesita que la rescaten, ella es fuerte, valiente y no dudara ir detrás del que intente lastimar a los que ama (mas si se trata de Bishop)
Y los chicos, WOW! los chicos en este libro son muy buenos... Esto de escoger entre el demonio y el ángel me pega demasiado fuerte (x La verdad es que he amado a Bishop, un ángel con un pasado oscuro, pero con un corazón (y unos ojos) precioso, que se preocupa y ama a Sam sin importar lo que pase; y luego esta Kraven, el sexy y peligroso Kraven, que para ser un demonio tiene toda la pinta de un ángel; aun no se si valla a ver un triangulo amoroso en los próximos libros, pero yo me ofrezco para consolar al que Sam no escoja.

Una historia donde el bien y el mal deben trabajar juntos para salvar al mundo de un enemigo mas oscuro y peligroso, y en la que el amor y la acción siempre están presentes; Dark Kiss es un buen comienzo para un saga que promete bastante.

English Review:

The first book in the Nightwatchers series is a lot more of what I was expecting when I first read the synopsis, and I have to addmit that I was drawn to this book by its beautiful and dark cover, and I knew just by watching the wings in that boy that an alluring angel was set to steal my heart in this story... And OhMyBishop! What an angel, I don't care losing my soul if I can have someone like him at my side.

The story takes place in Trinity, New York in the space of one week (give it or take), where some really dark things are beginning to get loose and have start damaging the souls of the humans, and since these souls are the ones that keep the balance between Heaven and Hell, a team of four (two angels and two deamons) is sent to the now border-by-a-magic-shield-against-supernatural-beings Trinity to try to find the Source of these threats and end it before others measures are set in motion. This story is compeling and adictive, but I have a hard time in the beggining at getting hooked (that's the reason I didn't give a perfect score), but after a few chapters I was so into this book that I can barely stop reading. I haven't read another book by Michelle Rowen, but I really like the way she writes and makes that a single chapter feels like a couple of pages.

Other thing I really like about the story and the mitology is that Ms. Rowen no just put angels and demons in this book, but also create the grays, humans who have lost their souls that now need to kiss other humans to steal or feed from their souls; it was a great twist of what could happen to a human that had lost his or her soul and just to see what a soul means for a lot of people.

The characters are great! I really like Sam as the lead female; she has some family issues and because of that, she has an incredible dark sense of humor and a really sharp tongue, but at the same time she is just a tennage girl who doesn't want to end up hurt and has a lot of insecurities, but not for that she is a damsel in distress, she is fearless, reckless and, even when she doesn't want to admit it, a romantic.
And the boys in this book, OMG! They are hot as hell (no pun intend)... I really, really, really love Bishop; he's an angel with a very dark past, but with the most beautiful heart (and eyes) in the world, I like that he always take cares of Sam and the way he just seem to love her no matter what she is or how she acts; and trust me, if I loved Bishop, I just fell head over the hills for Kraven, the moody and sexy demon with the looks of a golden angel; I'm not sure if there's gonna be a love triangle in the next books, but I will gladly keep the one Sam doesn't pick!

A story where good and evil come together to save the world from a darkest enemy, with a very cute love story and a lot of action pack scenes, Dark Kiss is a great start for a series that still has a lot to offer.

Comentario de Portada: Me gusta bastante el diseño, el color y la ciudad en el fondo, con esas bonitas letras en cursiva para el título y las alas del chico también están geniales, pero el chico en general... No se, díganme loca, pero me recuerda a Robert Pattinson en Crepúsculo (x
